DOORS: 14:45 | FILM STARTS: 15:05
Our matinee screenings of classic and contemporary animated films returns to Clifton Observatory in 2023! This April, to celebrate St. George’s Day, we’re screening films inspired by English literature, and there was an obvious choice for our animated offering…
We’re screening Walt Disney’s thirteenth film, the 1951 Lewis Carroll adaptation Alice In Wonderland. Although it bemused critics upon initial release, after a 1974 re-release its cult status has grown, and it’s now regarded as an important animation milestone - not to mention one of Disney’s most surreal outputs for decades!

About The Location
Established in 1766, Clifton Observatory is an iconic landmark and an integral part of the Bristol landscape. The Observatory has had a long and varied history, but one thing has remained consistent over the centuries: the spectacular and unforgettable views of Bristol, Avon Gorge, and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
In 2015, the Observatory underwent a major restoration. Over the past few years. Today, it’s home to the 360 café, a museum featuring a rare Victorian-era Camera Obscura, and the atmospheric and mythical Giant’s Cave.
