Our matinee screenings of classic and contemporary animated films returns to Clifton Observatory in 2023! This March, we’re screening an Oscar-winning great that’s turning 25 this year - but for a twist, it’s neither Disney nor Pixar…

The Prince Of Egypt was released by Dreamworks in 1998, and its epic retelling of the story of Moses became a box office sensation. It was the first non-Disney film to be nominated for an Oscar (which it also won!) thanks to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s stunning song ‘When You Believe’. With a fantastic ensemble voice cast and a stirring soundtrack, we invite you to revisit - or discover - this classic in the intimate setting of the Observatory this March.

About The Location

Established in 1766, Clifton Observatory is an iconic landmark and an integral part of the Bristol landscape. The Observatory has had a long and varied history, but one thing has remained consistent over the centuries: the spectacular and unforgettable views of Bristol, Avon Gorge, and the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

In 2015, the Observatory underwent a major restoration. Over the past few years. Today, it’s home to the 360 café, a museum featuring a rare Victorian-era Camera Obscura, and the atmospheric and mythical Giant’s Cave.
