What's On In Bristol - Holst: In The Bleak Midwinter

Our friends atSt Mary Redcliffe Church are very excited to be welcoming celebrated filmmaker Tony Palmer for a rare opportunity to see his acclaimed Gustav Holst documentary Holst: In the Bleak Midwinter within the beautiful gothic architecture of the church. Tony’s magnificent film is filled with extraordinary performances of the composer’s music, along with fascinating insight into his life and work.

Featuring performances from The Savaria Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Chorus, Royal College of Music Orchestra, City of London Choir, Gloucester Cathedral Choir, and contributions from Katherine Jenkins, Kiri Te Kanawa and Russell Watson.

Prior to the screening, the audience will be treated to a live introduction from the filmmaker.
