DOORS: 18:45 | FILM STARTS 19:15
We’re back at The Station this April for an evening in collaboration with Bristol’s very own metal pub The Gryphon, celebrating all things heavy metal with an instant cult comedy classic.
We’re thrilled to have permission to screen the Finnish hit Heavy Trip, with a specially recorded guest intro from some of the cast and crew of the film! This critically acclaimed, warm-hearted satire of the metal community is must-watch viewing for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, and is like a quirky Scandinavian take on Spinal Tap, but with a band who’ve honed their unique sound - namely "symphonic post-apocalyptic reindeer-grinding Christ-abusing extreme war pagan fennoscandian metal" - but still haven’t played a show beyond their basement…
There’ll be a pop-up bar as well as a pop-up record shop courtesy of the legends at Black City Records, and a head-banging pre-film soundtrack to get you in the mood.
After the film, you’re invited back to The Gryphon, just up the road, to mosh the night away. There’s even talk of a post-film concert in The Gryphon’s live room - watch this space for more info when limited tickets go on sale for that too…
NB: this film will be screened in the original Finnish language with subtitles
