A classic of the silent era and one of the first examples of cinematic horror […] The film remains a sensation of the horror genre and 100 years since its release its influence can still be seen within cinema today

DOORS: 19:00 | FILM STARTS 19:30

Join us for our inaugural screening at St Mary Redcliffe this November for a spine-chilling screening to celebrate 100 years since the release of Nosferatu.

This cornerstone of German Expressionist silent film is a thinly veiled retelling of Bram Stoker’s Dracula – and the first ever screen adaptation of the story – with the famed actor Max Schreck delivering a truly ghoulish performance as the titular vampire.

The film will be accompanied by a live soundtrack courtesy of Bristol-based quartet Minima, who specialise in spellbinding contemporary accompaniments to silent films. Their performance for the centenary of this seminal film is an event not to be missed!

About The Film

1922 | PG | 93 mins

Estate agent Thomas Hutter travels to Translyvania to meet the enigmatic Count Orlok, a prospective client who apparently wishes to buy a house in Wisborg, the same German town where Hutter resides. However, as Hutter begins to suspect that his host is dangerous, Orlok is already concocting a plan that will forever change the citizens of Wisborg…
